Interlocking is used in electrical panels to prevent unsafe operations and ensure equipment is operated in the correct sequence.

It stops incompatible switches (or) circuit breakers from being operated simultaneously, protecting personnel and equipment from electrical faults, short circuits, and accidental damage while improving the overall safety and reliability of the power system.
