Why do we convert AC to DC in a VFD?
We used to convert AC to DC in a VFD because of:
1). Power Regulation
Converting AC to DC allows the VFD to regulate and stabilize the electrical
2). Variable Output
By converting to DC initially the VFD can easily control motor speed and torque.
3). Frequency Control
It enables accurate manipulation of the output frequency for adjusting motor speeds.
4). Reduced Harmonics
Converting AC to DC helps minimize the electrical noise and harmonics.
