The TK3-2 Calibration Instrument simulates shaft vibration and position. It verifies the monitor readings operating condition as well as the proximity transducer system condition. A properly calibrated system means accurate measurements of the monitor and transducer inputs.
Working:
A spindle micrometer is used to check the calibration monitoring of the transducer system and position. A TK3-2 mounting probe adapter holds the probe while the target is moved in calibrated increments to or from the tip of the probe. The Proximity sensor output is recorded using a voltmeter.
Using the motor-driven wobble plate, vibration monitors are calibrated. To hold the proximity probe in place, a swing-arm holder is located above the wobble plate.
The holder and the probe are adjusted to a position where the mechanical vibration desired is found. The vibration is then measured using the unit’s dial micrometer (no oscilloscope is required).
The reading of a vibration monitor can then be compared with the known input of the mechanical vibration signal. The TK3-2 mechanical vibration signal can range from peak-to-peak 50 to 254 μm (2 to 10 miles).
