Explain the difference between ON delay and OFF delay timer
ON DELAY: The output relay of the timer will be ON only after the set time elapses.
OFF DELAY: The output relay of the timer will be ON while the set time starts running. It will be OFF when the set time elapses.
Basically On timer means it’s on in starting ( for a set time ) then it’s close… and off timer means it’s off in starting for a set time then it’s on after that time. After the input is turned on there is a delay before the output is turned on. After the input is turned off there is a delay before the output is turned off.
They are used in motor control circuits to prevent overloads from tripping a motor due to inrush current. Also have seen on older combustion control circuits to give valves time to sequence properly
