What is the difference between neutral and earthing

Explain the difference between neutral and earthing

Neutral helps the current to complete a circuit. Earth helps reduce electric shock and prevent excess current. Neutral is the return path of current towards source voltages. Earthing is return path of current towards the soil of earth mostly occurred when short circuit

Neutral:

Neutral is the return path for an AC circuit that carries current in normal conditions.

Earth:

Earth, also known as a ground, is used for safety concerns against leakage or residual currents in the system.

While phase and neutral are connected to main power wiring, the earth is connected to the body of equipment that doesn’t carry current in normal conditions but in case of any insulation failure, is supposed to carry some minor current
