What is a transformer panel

Explain the purpose of transformer panel

Transformer panel is different from transformer output panels, we can see transformer panels in large transformers

Transformer panels are for controlling the transformer auxiliaries. Transformer oil level wiring and temperature wiring are terminated in transformer panels to control and enunciate some tripping circuits or alarm signals & to inform that there are faults or situations. Transformer cooling water pumps are controlled from transformer panels. If you have a conservator tank above the transformer, there’s a relay known as the Buchholz relay. It trips the transformer when the temperature is high and oil rises up to the Buchholz. The wiring circuit is in the transformer panels. The tripping circuits of the transformer are managed from the panels. When the transformer is being tested or sampled, some relays contacts could be isolated in the panels. The panel is a major component of large transformers.
