Problems in the furnace ignitor

This is ignitor of furnace , when I start up the hot oil system, the ignitor won’t ignite I have to adapt distance of ignition probe with tube of fuel.

You need to keep a decent gap between the ignitor rod and the burner assembly. Only the tip of your ignitor rod should have gaped close to the burner assembly a maximum of 3/8". If any other part of your ignitor rod is close to the burner assembly it will spark there and not at the tip where the spark is required

check the gap of the electrodes. If the gap is more, sparking will not take place. Adjust gap if required.|
