DOL Starter Wiring Steps

Step-1: DOL (Direct-On-Line) starter is used to start three-phase induction motors.

Step-2: It applies full line voltage directly to the motor.

Step-3: It consists of MCB, Contactor, Overload Relay (OLR), Start Push Button (NO), Stop Push Button (NC), and Motor.

Step-4: Pressing the START button energizes the contactor coil and seals through the auxiliary contact.

Step-5: Pressing the STOP button or overload trip disconnects the motor.

Step-6: Suitable for small motors up to about 5 HP.
