Do you always need a interface module (IM) for a DP/PA coupler?

Dear all,

I’m configuring a DP/PA coupler in the hardware. But if I search for help on the internet I see that they always use an interface module with this. Is this neccesary?

YES, an IM is required for profibus DP/PA
