The **[Voltage Divider Rule](https://forumelectrical.com/voltage-divider-rule/)** is used to calculate the voltage drop across individual resistors connected in series.

In a series circuit, the same current flows through all resistors, while the supply voltage is divided among them according to their resistance values. A resistor with a higher resistance has a greater voltage drop.

Formula:

V₁ = Vₛ × R₁ / (R₁ + R₂)

V₂ = Vₛ × R₂ / (R₁ + R₂)

Where:

- Vₛ = Supply voltage
- V₁, V₂ = Voltage drops across resistors
- R₁, R₂ = Resistance values

Total Voltage:

Vₛ = V₁ + V₂
