# Pre-Steps for Battery Replacement

- Turn off and unplug any devices that the UPS supports. While replacing the UPS, unplug it from all power sources to avoid any electrical mishaps.
- Find the battery compartment, which is often located at the UPS unit’s bottom or back. To enter the container, use the proper tools.
- To protect yourself from potential acid spills & electrical risks, put on protective gloves and goggles.
- Acquire the instruments required for the task, usually consisting of a voltmeter to check the battery before installation, pliers and a screwdriver.
