# Process Instrumentation - Pressure relief Devices

Pressure relief devices is actuated by Inlet static pressure. Purpose of pressure relief is device is to open to during an emergency or abnormal condition to prevent a rise of internal fluid pressure in excess of a specified value.

Different types of pressure relief device are

1.Spring loaded pressure relief valve 2.Relief valve 3.Safety valve 4.Safety relief valve 5.Conventional pressure relief valve 6.Balanced pressure relief valve 7.Pilot operated pressure relief valve 8.Rupture disk device.
