## Different Types of MCB

**[MCB](https://forumelectrical.com/why-mcb-trips-and-how-to-fix-it/)** are of different types is suitable for specific load characteristics.

## Type B

Ideal for resistive loads such as lighting and heating in residential (or) household applications.

## Type C

Suitable for commercial and industrial loads with moderate inrush currents

**Eg:** Small motors & fluorescent lighting

## Type D

Designed for heavy-duty industrial machinery with high inrush currents

**Eg:** large motors and transformers.

## Type K

Optimized for inductive loads like

1). Motors and

2). Transformers

that produce short-duration inrush currents.

## Type Z

Intended for sensitive (or) electronic equipment that requiring accurate overcurrent protection.

**Eg:** semiconductor devices and preferred for sensitive electronic circuits.

Selecting the correct MCB assures that

1). Proper protection,

2). Safety and

3). Reliability of the electrical system.
