Based on motion we can classify the control valve in to two Categories

1. Linear Motion
2. Rotary Motion

Linear Motion - Three types

a)Globe b)Diaphragm c)Pinch

Globe valves are categorized as 3 a)Globe b)Angle c)3 Way

Globe valves are categorized according to the seats a)Single seated b)Double Seated

Based on Rotary Motion a)Ball b)Butterfly c)Plug
